Askheap is provided by Kyle Newton ("we", "us"). By installing or using Askheap you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software. Contact: info@kylenewton.co.uk.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use Askheap on devices you own or control. You may not resell it, redistribute modified copies as your own product, or remove attribution. We retain all rights not expressly granted.
Askheap connects to services you already use (such as Slack, Google, Notion and WhatsApp) using your own credentials, and processes messages using an Anthropic API key from your own Anthropic account.
You pay Anthropic directly for that usage, and those costs are yours. We do not bill you, do not resell API access, and have no visibility of your spend. Usage costs depend on how many messages you sync; we make no guarantee about what any given month will cost, and you should set your own spending limits in your Anthropic account.
Your use of each connected service remains governed by that service's own terms. You are responsible for making sure you are permitted to access the accounts you connect — including, if you use Askheap for work, that your employer permits it.
Askheap identifies action items automatically. It will sometimes miss things, and it will sometimes surface things that are not really tasks. It is an aid, not a guarantee.
Do not rely on Askheap as your only record of an obligation, and do not treat an empty board as proof that nothing needs your attention. We are not liable for anything missed, misread, or misprioritised by the software or by the underlying language model.
Do not use Askheap to access accounts or conversations you are not entitled to read, to surveil other people, or for anything unlawful. Do not attempt to use it to circumvent the access controls or terms of any connected service.
Askheap is under active development. Features may change or be removed, and connected services may change their APIs in ways that break a connector without notice. We may stop distributing or supporting the software at any time. Because it runs locally, a copy you have already installed will keep working for as long as the services it connects to allow.
Askheap is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect any particular message or task.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, nor for lost profits, lost business, missed deadlines, missed obligations, or data loss, arising from your use of Askheap. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for the software, which is currently nil.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
Askheap stores your data on your own device and operates no servers. See the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be published here with a revised date and noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Askheap after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere you retain the protection of any mandatory laws of your country of residence.
